Black Wall Street Nevada is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that is part of a global network of independently owned organizations that serve as one of the nation’s largest African American Civil Rights and advocacy organizations.
Black Wall Street Las Vegas District was established by Derwin Whitmore, MBA in 2012. As the first District President, Derwin Whitmore, identified the Historic Westside as the location for the new district, established the original board of directors, and oversaw the district implementation process. After serving as a member of the Black Wall Street USA Regional Advisory Board for the Southwest Region, Derwin Whitmore was appointed to Nevada State Director, and the Black Wall Street Nevada Corporation was established as a nonprofit organization. Due to internal differences, Black Wall Street Nevada disassociated itself from Black Wall Street USA but continues to serve the Southern Nevada Community.
Black Wall Street Nevada carries the legacy of resilience, economic growth, and self-determination from the original Black Wall Street. Our mission is to uplift and empower communities through economic opportunities, resources, and education. We invite you to join us in restoring economic justice.
